video 18 or 24 bits

Looking to improve video performances I measured the RGB lines around video digital-analog converter. I found out that R0,R1, G0, G1, B0, B1 (least two significant bits of each color) are sitting high all the time. Looks like the unit works with 18 bits not 24 bits of color. Is it a way to enable 24...

receive multicast streams VLC

Hi I can stream out with Fit-PC2 using VLC and a multicast address. I am receiving also a stream from a unicast address using VLC. But I cannot receive (with VLC) a stream sent from a multicast address. The same stream with multicast address works in a windows machine (not FIT-PC2) Looks like Fit-PC...

Re: re-install Ubuntu 8.04

Thank you for your reply. The hard drive is the one that came with the unit. The problem was that after all_generic_ide is added to the kernel line you need to use "b" to boot not ENTER. If ENTER is used the editing of kermel line is lost and the error I described occurs. Maybe somebody should fix t...

Re: re-install Ubuntu 8.04

I installed ubuntu 9.04 and it is working. But it is slower than 8.04.3

I download again 8.04.3, I checked MD5Sum and made another CD.
After reboot I have the same error message as before.

Any suggestion?

Re: re-install Ubuntu 8.04

I used this hard drive to install windows XP and was working.

After Ubuntu installation fail for the first time, I used Gpart to erase the old partition.

Now seams the hard drive is not recognized.

Re: playing very slow mpeg file

Can you tell me how to enable VAAPI? I just click on the file and mplayer starts. VAAPI is not enable by default? I used Fit_PC1 with VLC to play some mpeg files and the full screen video was decent (SD not HD)

Thank you

playing very slow mpeg file

Hi

I bought an 1.6GHz, Ubuntu Fit-PC2 unit and the mpeg demo files are play back very slow. It is changing the frames slower than one per second.

Is it any setup required to play these files? I need to use the unit for full screen live video

Thank you,
