I just switch to 2.6.32-r2 and I still get the error :

I tried : echo "\0" | sudo tee /dev/watchdog and it also take 100 % of my CPU for 2 second, as the daemon does. So the daemon isn't the problème, it's the kernel driver... Do you have an idea to solve the problem ? PS : I didn't test this with watchdog activated in the BIOS, but I guess it's not nec...

Watchdog take lot of CPU

Hello I am interested to take advantage of the watchdog functionality of fit-pc2 (which is a great computer by the way :-)). I am using gentoo with the 2.6.32 kernel, I have enabled CONFIG_SBC_FITPC2_WATCHDOG=y on the config file and installed the watchdog daemon. But the daemon take a lot of CPU, e...

Same problem here with gentoo and kernel 2.32
Sometimes press the power button unblock the computer .. sometimes not.

(I had the same problem with archlinux (kernel 2.31) too)

EDIT : I just upgrade the bios and it seams that the problem is gone... (I hope :-))

It's ok I solved the problem

I disabled dmix witch resample the music ... witch take cpu.
Now it takes 4 or 5 % of my CPU...

Yes but it's not just a problem with mplayer .. every thing that use alsa take 15 % of CPU...

I try oss4 but it doesn't detect my hardware.
