Re: Not resuming from sleep
I'm having a similar problem: the display shuts down and refuses to resume--have to reboot to get it back (I can't get the disc to spindown either). It is not the screen saver as that is a visual one (matrix waterfall); my screen just goes completely black. The OS is not hybernating as I can ssh int...

Drive Spindown
Regards a factory setup Linux PC2, has anyone confirmed the Hitachi drive and standard Ubuntu distro can be made to spindown? Have issued a $ sudo hdparm -B 127 /dev/sda $ sudo hdparm -S 120 /dev/sda #wait 10 minutes $ sudo hdparm -C /dev/sda active/idle According to the man pages, this *should* set...

Re: WOL
Secon vote for configurable WOL option. Could also be used as an alternate to the auto-on 5-week delay provided there is something else on the LAN that can wake the Fit after a power restore.

Very low cost addition to help users.
Label the box with the hardware NIC address (and WiFi where fitted). Saves setup time and helps identify a failed unit in a cluster by visual inspection.

Re: Wish list: S/PDIF
Another vote for bringing out digital audio via the HDMI conenctor (yes, I know it's really DVI-D, but this is a wish list...)

Re: Some small suggestions for fit-pc2
8. For the server, IR is not required. It would be nice to have one extra usb port. No no! Not everyone is server-centric. The IR is a terrific feature and does no harm if you don't use it. I'd like to see a mini jack for the IR receiver diode so it can be remotely located from the box. Possibly an ...

Re: Monitor & TV List
Success: Bang and Olufsen BeoVision 4 60" plasma via a BeoSystem 3 at 1080P. Connection was HDMI -> DVI -> HDMI so if I had a spare HDMI cable lying around, that would probably do the job by itself. No audio as my application just controls a Sony CX777ES 400 DVD player on a separate BeoSystem 3 inpu...

Re: Linux screensaver not seeing IR input
Think I may have answered my own question: the Fedora setup was using xscreensaver which may have been more open to input from other devices like IR. Have reconfig'd to use this and disable gnome-screensaver. Will report if this is the cure. (Later) Confirmed. xscreensaver sees IR signals and deacti...

Linux screensaver not seeing IR input
My Fit-pc2 is taking over from a heat generating Acer PC as the controller for a Sony CX777 400 DVD carousel in my HT setup. All is good except receipt IR input does not act like keyboard/mouse input to turn off the screensaver as it used to under the previous setup This was Fedora 9 with lirc and a...
