Re: Better respons from eth0 on Debian/Ubuntu --> using r8168

by the way: when creating the dkms.conf file, you have to change the qoutations: "" tot ''.

Like this example:
PACKAGE_NAME=r8168
PACKAGE_VERSION=8.019.00
MAKE[0]='make'
BUILT_MODULE_NAME[0]=r8168
BUILT_MODULE_LOCATION[0]='src/'
DEST_MODULE_LOCATION[0]='/kernel/updates/dkms'
AUTOINSTALL='YES'

Better respons from eth0 on Debian/Ubuntu --> using r8168

http://djlab.com/2010/10/fixing-rtl8111 ... an-ubuntu/

I followed this how to for fixing the ethernet driver: no more drop outs or a freeze of fit-pc2. Also when I rebooted, sometimes there was a loss of the eth0 device; I do not get this anymore!

Cheers, Marco

Re: Nice WORKING howto for debian squeeze users

The DRM for the poulsbo driver has to be initialized. This happens at the startup of your computer.
My Debian squeeze is completely up-to-date.

My kernel s optimized for the atom processor, and I turned off a lot of features wich I did not need. You can work perfectly with the stock kernel.

Re: Nice WORKING howto for debian squeeze users

I did a download for Fedora... It's just a bundel of drivers for a couple of Linux versions.

Re: random lockups

...and did you tried to compile your own driver from Realtek? I am on Debian now... and i see what you mean.
Or even better: did you find a solution?
