Re: Fitlet-T problems with Linux Mint

Mbirger, thanks. Obviously it's not a big deal; will consider RMA'ing the emulator tho. Anyway FWIW I can tell everyone that the machine itself works great now. :)

Re: Fitlet-T problems with Linux Mint

OK I do believe the mystery has now been resolved. The culprit is/was... drum roll please... the compulab display emulator. When I use it the machine consistently fails to see the SATA SSD (which I have configured as Drive D) in both Linux and Windows, and frequently fails to boot in Linux. Machine ...

Re: Fitlet-T problems with Linux Mint

Folks, a bit of an update. Since I had an extra msata SSD, I decided just for experimental porpoises to pop that one into the machine and try Win 10 on it. So far it has been running just fine for 24 hrs with that OS. No crashes or any other signs of weirdness/instability. So... assuming this contin...

Fitlet-T problems with Linux Mint

Moved from a different forum once i realized that I am running a Fitlet-T and not a Fit-PC4. :) (Sorry about that.) Folks, I am having two issues with my T, both possibly related. This looks like an RMA issue to me but figured I'd post here first, if only to ask how to proceed. I have installed Linu...

Re: Linux Mint 18 install on Fitlet-T barebone

Following up on my prior message - the display emulator does not seem to make any difference with the Fitlet-T running Mint via Teamviewer. (Which is to say that it works fine, and the same way, with or without it.) YMMV. I may try it on some of my other machines...

Re: Linux Mint 18 install on Fitlet-T barebone

Got my Fitlet-T and set it up with a 120gb m.2 for the OS and 960gb ssd for music files. Linux install was a breeze. Only weirdness I encountered was that Linux wanted to see my 960gb OCZ SSD as having two partitions for some reason; almost like someone had tried to set up the drive before. Being no...

Re: Linux Mint 18 install on Fitlet-T barebone

Thanks, OK, will try it first without. FWIW I haven't generally had problems with Teamviewer on headless systems, so far anyway.

In other matters, do you have any resellers in the Jerusalem area? (Already ordered from Amazon in the US but I may have need for another one or two..)

Re: Linux Mint 18 install on Fitlet-T barebone

Ordered. One final question - I will be using this as a headless server; for this model with Mint do I need the display emulator? Would probably use teamviewer for Linux. Thanks!
