Power Off

Post by nick76 »

Hi Support,

I have a new IPC2 and have installed an intel mSATA drive into the miniPCI slot as well as a Samsung 840EVO 2.5" SATA drive into the SATA slot. The memory is 2 x 8Gb DDR3 1600MHz.

I have a strange behaviour that when I shut the IPC2 down using the software (eg Windows) the IPC will shut down correctly, the LED on the front goes RED to indicate it is off, but then automatically about 3 seconds later it powers itself back up again.

If I hold the power button down when i'm in windows and force it to power off, it will stay off until I press the button again.

I have tried changing the S0/S5 setting in the BIOS to see if it has an impact but it doesn't. No matter what the power settings are in the BIOS it will always restart 3 seconds after it has switched itself off.

The behaviour is almost like a wake up event is happening all the time, so when is soft off's, it immediately gets woken back up again. I have tried also removing all cables etc.. while it is shutting down and it still does it, so it doesn't appear to be anything external waking it up.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Nick...

Please try to update the BIOS (if you're using Win7) - it probably will solve this.
