Boot OS from micro SD

I just got my new fitlet-H Barebone (fit-PC4-CA1067-WACB-FM4U-BFLT). Where is the micro SD slot, is it the one labeled "µSD"?

I have read I could install OS and boot from the micro SD, which could be fine since a 32 GB card is cheap.

But will it perform as well as boot from a HDD? or and SDD?

The microSD slot is on the back panel, middle top. And I think it is labeled
µSD.

No, the microSD will not perform as well as a hard drive or SSD. It will
work just fine, though cheap microSD cards tend not to last as long as a
SSD would. (And certainly not as long as a spinning hard drive would.)

Some MS-Windows versions can't boot off the microSD cards in a fitlet.
That is a limit of MS-Windows.

Thanks. The slot mentioned was the right one. And it performs fine boots in no time.

Glad it's working for you. Just remember to backup important files, (or the
whole system), as microSD cards don't last as long as mSATA flash drives.

As for speed, yes, a microSDHC/XC card seems to work great. I hope to
turn my fitlet-iA10 into a pfSense firewall soon, using a microSD card as
it's boot device.
