Failed to detect Phoenix bios

Post by Boma »

Hi

I am trying to update the bios on a fitlet PC but receive an error message. When i run flash.bat it returns:

--
Failed to detect Pheonix BIOS

ERROR 255 - TDK library initialization failed!
--

I have created a usb drive according to
http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... IOS_Update

With this ROM
http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... _ROM_Files

The reason why i am updating is, that the bios will not detect my Adata drives (i have tried multiple, no detection), so i thought i would give bios update a try.

Its a fitlet i Barebone GI-C64-WACB.

What could be the problem? Is it the wrong Bios ROM I am using?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I found another mSATA to try out. Its a Kingston SMS200S3/30bg which appears to be on the compatability list
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... li=1#gid=0

But fitlet is not detecting this one in bios either.

Hmm hmm what to do

fitlet is using AMI BIOS and not Phoenix.
See http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... IOS_Update.

However, there is normally no mSATA recognition problem with fitlet and various models, and if there is, it does not involve BIOS.

Ensure you are using the correct socket (lower one)
Clean the contacts
Check SATA settings in BIOS. Ensure it is enabled.
Try booting with a USB device and see if you can recognize / partition / format mSATA from the OS.
