i would like to install it in my vehicle using the vehicles 12volt power supply and then running an usb cable from it to my smart phone...

will i be able to use the android smartphone as the mini's wifi hotspot also as the monitor and keyboard?

The setup should work. You will need to enable tethering in your mobile for the hotspot, VNC may be used as remote desktop on the mobile.

thank you for the reply, i'm very interested in setting this up, are there specific android phones that will work better than others? i use htc evo and htc one m9 on the sprint network usa...
