Suggestion

Post by alpha_one_x86 »

Hello,

As all user I see this hardware so hot... :(
For the next gen of hardware, fitlet X 2 for with 4 ethernet port is good, but reduce the power budget. For me the intel chip for network is good choice to have Interrupt Moderation, offloading of checksum, ... I use lxc, then I don't need hardware virtualisation. I use the SIMD and AES instruction.
I don't have /sys/class/scsi_host/host*/link_power_management_policy because I don't use SSD (usb key and microSD for now).
I don't found how disable some device in UEFI to improve the power usage:

Code: Select all

00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon R3E Graphics] (rev 02)
USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] FCH USB XHCI Controller (rev 11)
SATA controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] FCH SATA Controller [AHCI mode] (rev 40)
Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] FCH Azalia Controller (rev 02)
Anybody have see that's into the option?

Have you checked out the optional finned cover?

It's in stock and 15.00 Dollars/US. The device won't reduce power consumption, but it
can reduce temp. on the case.

I target more power reduction. 15$ more 500$ to import here... I wish as compute utilite, somethings around 1-1.5W at idle.

Well I have replaced my fit pc 2 + compute utilite (remain with kernel crash when is used as gateway, full backtrace posted on linux kernel).

I have disabled all PCIe device not used, do a minimal kernel to improve power usage, performance and security.
For exemple A64, H64 from all winner is interesting for me. ARM with AES + 64Bits, 5$ chip, ...
