Post gma500 driver issue
Two weeks ago I've bought fitPC2 and I'm using it as a CarPC.
Everything works great except sometimes after waking out from hibernation I get BSOD igxpmp32.sys.
After restarting everything is ok, but that's not solution because I need to use hibernation.
So, I have uninstalled GMA500 driver and installed IEGD driver.
With that driver there is no more BSODs, BUT I can't set brightness of my screen, which is very important feature when using it as CarPC.
OS is Windows XP pro (full install), and all drivers are downloaded from here:
http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/xp-drivers/

So, question is , how to avoid BSOD when using GMA500 driver, or how to set brightness when using IEGD driver.
Thanks.

Ok, I have found brightness settings in IEGD properties.
But I can't do this every day manually.
My 3rd party dimmer cant change brightness , I have tried few other dimmers, but also no luck.

We are not familiar with setting display brightness from the display driver.

Ok, forget IEGD.
Do you know why GMA500 driver crashes?
Is there any newer driver or can I check some BIOS settings, what do you suggest?

XP went EOL a year ago and the GMA500 driver for XP was not updated since Dec 2009. I don't think Intel will fix any issues in this conditions. It is unlikely that BIOS settings would have any effect.

Note that fit-PC2 consumes about 1W in standby (0.45W in hibernation) and resume from standby is faster. A 50Ah car battery will keep fit-PC2 in standby for 25 days.
You can use wake-on-timer - http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?t ... e_on_timer - to shut down after let's say 2 days, but switching off power completely would be even better if the car is not started for a long period.

No problems with BSODs on 7 ?

I have intelligent automotive PSU with startup/shutdown controller.

Hello

The drivers posted on our website are the latest stable drivers. For this point of time, we didn't receive any complaints about BSODs. Try to use GMA500 driver firstly to check if it fits you. Anyway, I think you'll get a better driver support for an updated system comparing to EOL's one.

Regards
