SD card in Windows Embedded Standard 7

Post by michiel »

I'm trying to use the SD card in Windows Embedded Standard 7. I can't get it to work. In device manager, it shows up under 'Other Devices' as 'SD Memory Card', but with a yellow exclamation mark.
I guess I need a driver. I installed all drivers from http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/win7-drivers/ (including the chipset driver), but it still does not work.
The card itself, and the other hardware, works. I tried booting into ubuntu linux, from a USB stick, and I can see the drive there. I can also see it during WES7 installation. I even managed to begin the boot from the SD card. But halfway the process, it fails, because windows can't find the right driver for the card.
Any suggestions? Any other driver I could try?

Thanks.

1. If you install the WES 7 by using IBW, the SD Card should be inserted during the installation.

2. In order to intsall the WES 7 on the SD Card, you should add the following components:
- "SD Boot" from Embedded Enabling Features
- "Enhanced Write Filter Boot Environment" from Boot Environments.

Thanks, that worked. I'm not sure which of the two (or maybe both) I missed last time. But using those two, I can boot from the SD!
