SATA v. SATA-II

Post by derek »

Does the fit-PC2i's SATA controller support SATA-II or only SATA?

I think I am right in saying that the extra speed of SATA-II would not be of benefit in this scenario. I am only asking because it seems to be getting difficult to buy a disk that is only SATA !

Edit: Or will the controller and the disk negotiate down to SATA speeds if the controller is only SATA?

The controller supports SATA II but the speed is limited by IDE chip anyway.
So any 2.5" SATA (I or II) disk will work.
