S/PDIF no sound with Kubuntu 10.10

Post by ftoth »

I have a fitpc2 1.6GHz (1.4) with Kubuntu 10.10 running nicely.

Installed poulsbo driver from https://wiki.edubuntu.org/HardwareSuppo ... rdsPoulsbo
Installed wlan driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/662288, #25 worked for me (running kubuntu 10.10)

I have connected the hdmi cable to my Samsung UE40C6000 DVI input, configured the input to DVI PC and connected the fitpc supplied cable from the SPDIF/Analog in on the fitpc and the digital sound input of the tv.

Set the 'media' setting to Digital IEC529 - No sound - whatever try.
When I set to Analog Output and plug in a headphone to the line out I can hear sound.

Has anyone got S/PDIF to work here with linux and a TV?

I'm running out of ideas here. Don't know if it is a problem with the tv or linux getting the ALC662 configuration wrong from ACPI.

Well it seem the fitpc2 works well, apparently my tv is no accepting the s/pdif signal, which is possibly a configuration problem on that end.

I've got the analog out to be accepted, that's fine for now.
