s/pdif jackfor fit-pc2 not 2i

Post by inops »

The original s/pdif cable for the fit-pc2 is long gone...

but now I want to connect the thing to my surround sound receiver/decoder.

I used a standard, mono, 1-ring 3.5.mm to RCA adaptor for a co-axial cable into the receiver.

I get nothing (I know the receiver and the input from a dvd player works on it)

So I dug some more, and it turns out the fit-pc2i needs a 3-ring jack as both analog and s/pdif are shared on that. But I have a pc2 only.

Do I still need a custom jack/adaptor?

thanks

fit-PC2 supported two different audio codecs, when currently Realtek ALC662 only is being used.

Digital SPDIF out is supported on Auxiliary audio jack (P9) - the one close to power input jack.
Analog out is supported on main audio out jack (P4) - the middle one.

Mating 3.5'' plugs are shown below. As can be seen it is a 4 ring plug, when pin 2 used for SPDIF out on the auxiliary, and analog out is used on pins 3, 4 of the main jack.
