Fit-PC2 inside DIN35 rack?

Post by tomek »

Hi

I'm considering buying my third Fit-PC2, and putting it into DIN35-like rack, along with USB relay board like this:

Generally, my plan is to control 7kW-overall heaters. I'm already familiar with software side, but how about putting Fit-PC2 (which would be the controller) into DIN35-like rack?

Is Fit-PC2 able to withstand the electric field in such rack? How about disk?

Maybe someone already tried to do this? I would appreciate any advices...

hi,
put the relay box into a metallic enclosure (ferromagnetic material) and use if possible shielded cabling with cable shields connected to gooooooood GND. Ideally using sleeve feed-thru into the box. then I do not see any problem at all in this application.
make sure everything has big surface GND connection to a real GND.
Should not be a problem. the main problem will be switching off the relays and suppress sparks and alike, you might need varistors, to catch this. But as long as you keep the 'noise' inside the relay box there should not be any problem. I hope the RS232 is opto-isolated.
