Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

Post by ftoth »

Hello,

Has anyone tried to install the above wlan a/b/g/n dual band card? Or is there any chance that the fit-pc will come with this or such a card soon? I think this will be needed if you have HD video streams.

I am not sure but believe you need 3 antennas?

Anyway see http://www.intel.com/network/connectivi ... hdocs.htm
Thanks,

Ferry

Nope, not me. And actually I don't know if full sized miniPCIe cards fit in.

Despite the marketing claims (starting centrino) I don't think Intel wifi cards are such a good choice, but well, that wasn't your question. I don't believe we will see this in fitPC2 anytime soon: dimensions, power, heat and costs

You don't need to attach all antennas, but doing so will get you extra signal strength. Most 11g wifi cards just connect one antenna, even so they have two connectors. I don't know which antennas have to be connected for dualband usage.
