Broadcom - bcm 70015 mini-pcie care

Post by radioxid »

Hi.
Have you heard of the now one year old mini pcie card? It can help displaying hd content! along with the gma500...

Has someone tested it yet? does someone know where we can buy it?
It is said to be low power consuming and has full opensource drivers! That would really be huge if it is going to be the succesor of poulsbo! yogev?

We tried BCM70012 a year ago. Decoding results were no-better than GMA500.

What about ...15? Where could it be found?
Moreover, this card seduces me because of its full opensource official drivers. and it is pretty non consuming as well.

Off topic: is your "May '08 ubuntu img" the best working ubuntu-modified release around? I want to know if it works better than newer ubuntu realeses with the gma500, (special kernel number...).

You can buy BCM70015 from eBay or from Logic Supply at around 50$ each.
Logic Supply ship worldwide: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/bcm970015

I purchased 2 units for evaluation but haven't tested them in FitPC2 yet.

So what's new Yogev?

Is this card more capable than the GMA500? I mean, GMA500 is only limited by non-open drivers?

Are those chipsets able to be run simultaneously? rendering video altogether?

EXOPC's builder uses the broadcom card in their slate...
