I'm quite sorry to say that the Poulsbo drivers will not be in Karmic
Koala. The Poulsbo chipset has a proprietary section to the driver and
Intel has said they are not supporting Karmic Koala, so its out of my hands.

Cheers,

David

Sad but true

We might get 2D support into the kernel tree in the future (http://www.mail-archive.com/dri-devel@l ... 38853.html) but apparently it will be crippled since some 2D accel is dependent on the 3D binary.

So does that mean we will always be reliant on Compulabs for a 'FitPC2 version' of Ubuntu???

Probably. If there is a driver at all for them to distribute.

For what it is worth, I'm happily using Ubuntu 8.04 installed from Canonical's CD, no special drivers, and regular Ubuntu-supplied updates, and the resolution is fine. I happen to be using the July BIOS.
