NOTICE: Ubuntu 8.04 (Desktop) reached EOL

Anyone still using 8.04 as a desktop system should consider an upgrade as this release has reached its End-of-Life date on Thursday, May 12, 2011. This only affects the desktop version, server installations are supported till April 2013.
Recommended LTS upgrade paths are:
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS: estimated EOL is April 2013 (desktop) and April 2015 (server)
- Linux Mint 9 LTS
