Post 10.04 as access point?
Any progress on this becoming capable to use the wireless as an access point (master mode)? I'd be happy to throw down a small bounty to get this rolling.

And yes, I've read the posts that say master mode capability has not been implemented... from months ago. Thought I'd not be "that guy".

Nope, for rt2x00 project this is most likely a WONTFIX issue (if someone writes the code, they would not decline it of course) and for the driver provided by ralink, well.. I haven't checked their site recently, but I doubt there is going much work into this one (if any..).

--edit--

Maybe I was wrong on this one, at least some people claim having AP mode working. USB wifi chip in fitpc2i might not perform that well, but the mini pci chip found in standard fitpc2 might get AP support... someday:

We got rt3070ap sources after SLA document was signed.

I can confirm the USB drivers do work as an access point mode with 10.04 server.

This seals all issues I've had now using this little guy as my router, firewall, DDNS relay host, my webserver, my ftp server, and nice replacement for my old WRT54GL.
