Hi,

My new Mintbox arrived yesterady. It comes preinstalled with Mint13 Maya.

I notice when I run some applications eg Tomboy notes, (which comes pre-installed), the screen flickers 2 or 3 times in a 2 second period. The operating system is fine, just it looks real ugly.. the monitor displays a kind of interference pattern and it looks for a second like something is seriously wrong..

I use a U2410 24" Dell monitor via HDMI to HDMI, I also tried it only my other newer U2410 monitor, with a 1.5m cable.. but that still flickered too. I also tried connecting cable via display port on the Mintbox, to the HDMI on the monitor, but still same issues.

Is there a problem with interference from inside the mintbot I wounder? I wounder if certain apps use harddisk more etc which causes interference to the circuitry that controls the HDMI/Pisplay Port output?

Does anyone have the same problem or have a solution?

Ive had this message on this board a few days now, please could someone assist me with this, I've also emailed two emails to you also 3 days ago but havent had a reply.

If this issue doesn't get resolved Im gonna have to send this box back to you, and get a refund as I dont know whether this is normal or a bug or if it can be fixed.

Yes. Sorry for not updating you. For now, we are unable yet to reproduce your problem. We are trying to cover a number of monitors to see if it a monitor depended issue

Are we talking about stock Mint installation?

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by 'Stock' machine, but it was the Mintbox that I ordered froom your website, I just turned on the power , entered my details , then used machine out of the box.

Ok, I'll try another brand of monitor, it may be after the weekend now.
