What kind of cable is needed to connect the 3,5mm S/PDIF output port to a DAC ?
The standard cable supplied with the fit-pc3 works with a Naim DAC but, for instance, the Oehlbach NF 113 Digital, 75 Ohms HF impedance does not seem work with the same device !
S/PDIF audio cable
Re: S/PDIF audio cable
I have done some further tests and my conclusion is that the 3.5mm S/PDIF output of my fit-pc3 works flawlessly with 16 and 24 bit, 44.1, 48, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz files but NOT with 24 bit 88.2 kHz !
Files in this format (no matter whether FLAC or WAV) exhibit severe aliasing problems when played through the 3.5mm S/PDIF interface of my fit-pc3.
One can easily test the interface with the sample files from section "High Definition Frequency Sweeps" on
http://www.audiocheck.net/testtones_hig ... naudio.php
The first file (88.2 kHz) produces obvious aliasing artefacts, the other three sound as they should. The question is whether this is a software or an hardware problem and whether the problem can be fixed. Any idea or suggestion ?

Re: S/PDIF audio cable
There is nothing to be done with audio codec about that.
Try to update the SW driver.
