The Linux Kernel

I use ubuntu 9.10 on my fit-pc2 with the fit-pc kernel, does this kernel get updated?
i saw this http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/d0od/~3/ypy9w8i5ADU/
and expect it to be about in the Linux 2.6.38 kernel (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... ideo&num=2).
so my question is, do improvements in the normal kernel get included in the fit-pc version?
