Ubuntu Does Not See NIC devices

Post by mikemazz »

I have a Fit-Pc2i and have been unable to get Ubuntu version 9.04, 10.04 and 10.10 to recognize the ethernet ports. The wireless seems to work fine but completely unable to active wired.
Anyone have any ideas?

SOLVED:

It turns out that the ethernet ports were somehow put in a state of powered off. I had to shutdown the Fitpc and unplug it for 30 secs. This seemed to reset the ports and they came back.
I noticed the problem because the lights on the ports never came on until the reset was performed.
