root pw of a pre-installed mint linux and DVD boot problems

Post by armadillo »

Hello,

yesterday i received my Intense-PC with a pre-installed mint linux. But the root password is not provided at all!?

Having no root password I wanted to re-install the mint linux 14.1 from a fresh DVD using a USB-DVD drive. But I get a "not a com32r image" error after loading some data from the DVD. Entering "live" or "install" (as found some hints on the net) resulted in a corrupt kernel image message...

However the md5sum of the DVD image is correct!

Any idea?

Regards,
Stefan

Hi,
Please look at http://fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Intens ... ux_Mint_13.

On our factory image root password is not provided, you choose your own username/password during first run dialog. This password can be used with sudo command to perform all administration tasks.
