Re: Major Intense PC problems

Is there any way I can check that the faulty power brick has not made any damage to the internal power circuit or other components?

The Intense PC is going to run mission critial software at a remote location, so I would like to make so many tests as possible trying to avoid problems in the future.

I'm glad to hear the issues are resolved and root causes identified.
If Intense PC works shortly after the PSU was replaced then the likelihood of damage to any circuit and power circuit in particular is very low.

As I wrote earlier, the problems was because of a cheap PS/2 to USB converter and a faulty power brick. The internal components has not been damaged by the faulty power brick, the Intense PC is very strong and reliable.

After the problems was solved I made some tests with mprime, to ensure correct operation of the Intense PC:

Code: Select all

Blend (tests some of everything, lots of RAM tested):

[Worker #1 Sep 4 10:20] Torture Test completed 826 tests in 24 hours, 10 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #2 Sep 4 10:20] Torture Test completed 828 tests in 24 hours, 10 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #3 Sep 4 10:20] Torture Test completed 822 tests in 24 hours, 10 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #4 Sep 4 10:20] Torture Test completed 825 tests in 24 hours, 10 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.

In-place large FFTs (maximum heat and power consumption, some RAM tested):

[Worker #2 Sep 5 11:50] Torture Test completed 770 tests in 25 hours, 19 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #3 Sep 5 11:50] Torture Test completed 765 tests in 25 hours, 19 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #1 Sep 5 11:50] Torture Test completed 770 tests in 25 hours, 19 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #4 Sep 5 11:50] Torture Test completed 770 tests in 25 hours, 19 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.

Small FFts (maximum FPU stress, data fits in L2 cache, RAM not tested much):

[Worker #4 Sep 6 12:45] Torture Test completed 762 tests in 24 hours, 45 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #2 Sep 6 12:45] Torture Test completed 765 tests in 24 hours, 45 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #3 Sep 6 12:45] Torture Test completed 762 tests in 24 hours, 45 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Worker #1 Sep 6 12:45] Torture Test completed 766 tests in 24 hours, 45 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
Three days with extreme load on the machine was no problem.
