Error 8743 when applying ME_LOCK.bat to MintBox 2

Post by Burt »

When applying the latest BIOS update (ipc_2.2.400.3.img) to a MIntBox 2, the first part (BIOS_UPD.bat) runs without any errors, but for the second part (ME_LOCK.bat), I get Error 8743:
Unknown or unsupported platform. Cannot locate hardware platform identification. This program cannot be run on the current platform, followed by a series of error messages (see images) that end with a FAILED status.
I also applied the latest BIOS update (ipc2hsw_usb_3.330.5.img) to a different IPC2 box and both commands ran without errors.
Any suggestions to make ME_LOCK.bat run without errors on my MintBox 2?

It was determined that the i5-3337U CPU my MintBox2 uses lacks Intel® vPro™ Technology (ME), thus the error you and I observed. The take away for me is that I learned that not all i5 processors have Intel® vPro™ Technology (ME).

Perhaps your MintBox uses this CPU also.

A big Thank You to Maxim Birger for working with me to solve the mystery of the error message when the ME_LOCK.BAT was applied to this CPU.

My MintBox 2 does indeed have the same Intel i5 3337U cpu. Thank you for solving the mystery! It would be a good idea for fitPC to mention this with the instructions as there must be more MintBox 2 that have this cpu.

We have released an update few weeks ago, under the same filename:
http://fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Intens ... _ROM_files

You can run the following commands:
BIOS_UPD.bat (will update the BIOS)
ME_UPD.bat (will update the ME)

If you wish to leave master access to SPI Flash (unlocked) you should not run the: ME_LOCK.bat (combines two routines - ME update and SPI flash lock)
