I tried the BIOS update version IPC_2.2.400.3 X64.

While running BIOS_UPDATE.BAT, everthing seems to work, it reboots and gets back to the USB-Flash drive. While executing ME_LOCK.BAT or ME_UPD.BAT, the update never finishes. The warning message is displayed not to power off the machine, the sending process of the update image completes fine. But the FW Update process stalls at 10% (Stage 3 or 19).

After 25 minutes, the cycling - und | signs next to the number 19 aren't changing anymore and the message: "Please disconnect this system from power for 15 sec for completion" never shows up.

All earlier released fw-updates went fine.

After disconnecting from power and rebooting the intense pc, the bios shows IPC_2.2.400 and the ME version is not updated, it is still 8.1.20…

What can I do?

looks like HW problem (BIOS SPI flash should be replaced).

Unfortunately the problem cannot be handled in the field.
You are advised to send the unit by RMA.

Issue solved!

Summary:

Recreated the firmware usb boot stick, reset the bios and the update succeeded.
