Post Questions
I'm thinking of getting the fit-pc2 and have a few questions.
I live in Australia and my house runs on solar and wind power.
We use standard Australian plugs and 240V power.

I am going to order direct as it is cheapest option.
What adapters will i need? Will the adapters use any power?

Also, can anyone recommend a low power (max 20W) LCD monitor? Probably 17" or smaller. Something i might be able to stand on a windowsill?

And recommendations on small keyboards and mice?

And is it hard to install other OSs? Can you install via USB or ethernet? I normally run Arch Linux.

Thankyou :D,
Alex

Post Re: Questions
If you order direct, you will get external 12V power brick (like in laptops) + North American power cord. You should just replace the North American cord with Australian power cord, and you are all set. The power brick accepts any range from 110V to 240V.

The computer uses around 8W with the power brick working at 80% efficiency, so the gross power consumption is around 10W. If you have a way to connect the computer directly to 12V power source, then you don't even need the power brick.

Regarding the monitor, you can choose any LCD monitor with DVI or HDMI input. The OS that support installation via USB stick can be installed on Fit-PC2 as well.

Post Re: Questions
For finding a low power monitor, you can go somewhere like newegg.com and search for lcd monitors with DVI or HDMI input. If you go to the monitor specifications they usually tell you how many watts the monitor uses. Something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824236030) uses <20 watts. Once you find a model you could look for a local retailer where you are. Also, the US has an EnergyStar Rating system that scores electronics by how much power they use. Models with good energystar ratings will use much less power than others. Google "energystar rated monitors" for their website. They don't have a very good search function but you can click through their listings to find low power monitors.

If you just need a small monitor for an interface, lilliput in china (http://www.lcd-touchscreen-monitor.com/ ... r-china-5/) makes nice 8-10" monitors with touchscreens. I ordered one from them direct and it was $220(USD) including shipping. They cost about twice that if you order them from a retailer in the states. Ordering is a bit of a hassle since you have to send the money via Western Union but once they got the money, I got the monitor in the mail in 3 days from china. You can also check auto stores that specialize in adding video and audio systems to cars. They have a lot of small, sweet 12v low power monitors but they are usually very expensive ($500USD+) which is why I ordered direct from china.
