Post ethernet not working when bios cpu speed to 75%
i got the following problem

because my fitpc2 run really hot i found in the bios the setting to place the cpu at 75% and so at 1,2ghz.
after this the ethernet is gone.
only putting it back to 100% wil bring the eth back.
also you need to power down the unit because after setting the bios back to 100% the unit will stay in 1,2ghz.....

See this note about overclocking/underclocking: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1243

fit-PC2 temperature does not have effect on reliability, but if you find it important it runs cooler, I suggest you use a heat-sink.

that thread is locked

i did not overclock but underclock it.
and when underclocking the ethernet is no longer working
putting it back to 100% it works again.
its not a problem just wanted to inform you for maybe future bios updates
because this is ofcourse not normal.

No, it is normal. Underclocking changes PCIe frequency. The ethernet controller is not guaranteed to work correctly at non-standard PCIe frequency. BIOS update will not change that.

ok
never got that problem in th past with other boards
but anyway not a problem
i wanted to underclock so it will run cooler butnow with the fan on top of it i can leave it in standard 100%

In some processors, over/under-clocking changes the CPU multiplier (i.e. the number by which you multiply the bus speed to get the CPU frequency).

So for example, if you have: 166 MHz bus X 12 (multiplier) = 2000 MHz CPU
After overclocking: 166 MHz bus x 13 (multiplier) = 2160 MHz CPU
So the CPU speed will be faster but the bus speed stays the same.

However, in Intel Atom the multipliers are fixed and it's not possible to change them. So if you want to over/under-clock the CPU speed, you will have to change the bus speed:

Normal: 166 MHz bus x 12 = 2000 MHz CPU
Overclocking: 177 MHz bus x 12 = 2133 MHz CPU

This is the reason it might work with other board but not with Fit-PC2.

well in that case i dont call this overclocking any usefull and can i understand wy i did not know this.
you will almost always want network connectivity.

The graphics performance and the RAM speed do increase with overclocking and they work OK. So if you want better graphic performance but do not need network, you can use this. You are not required to overclock ;)

overclocking is normally used for gaming
and in the time we life in today gaming using internet for multi player or other additional stuff is normal or can not even work without.

if you need more power for photoshopping then maybe
but even then you usually get files from a network drive. ( if its more professional )

but ok... if you can do without ethernet ...

and even in that case you can connect a usb ethernet :D en problem solved :P
