Post Samsung TV HDMI connection problem
I am connecting Fitpc2 (XP) to Samsung PS-42C7S via HDMI_2_HDMI cable and getting "No Signal". I try lowest resolution 600x800 (supported by Samsung). I scanned through this forum and tried the following:
1. Connected Fitpc2 (XP) to Samsung PS-42C7S via HDMI_2_HDMI cable - Fail
2. Connected another PC to Samsung via attached DVI-HDMI cable - success
3. Connected Fitpc2 to LG TV/Monitor with attached DVI-HDMI cable - success.
4. Switched to another HDMI_2_HDMI cable and repeat (1) - Fail.
5. Updated GMA500 driver from this site and repeated (1) - Fail.
6. Replaced GMA500 with IEGD driver from this site and repeated (1) - Fail.
7. While in (1) pressed F2 during Boot (to get into BIOS) - same result: "No signal"

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

BIOS is displayed at 640x480. If, as you say min resolution of TV set is 800x600 it will not display.

I suggest you see if you can disable DDC/EDID in your TV set and use IEGD driver.

Post Re: Samsung TV HDMI connection problem
I did not find how to disable Samsung DDC, but after some manual reading I came to supported resolutions:
HDMI input: 480i, 576i, 576p
VGA input: 640x480, 800x600, 848x480

Can Fitpc2 support any of Samsung HDMI listed formats?

The VGA, SVGA resolutions are supported, but you will need fit-VGA adapter. The other resolutions are custom and may require generation of custom IEGD driver.

I am a bit confused, if I get an adapter would I still need a custom IEGD?
Additionally, How can I build custom IEGD?

With a fit-VGA you can watch in 640x480 or 800x600.
Generating IEGD (or the newer EMGD) requires downloading the package from http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/EMGD/ and following non-trivial generation process. I do not recommend it.

I got Fit-VGA adapter.
1. Tried both IEGD, GMA500 drivers (800x600) - fail
2. Tried different power-up sequences -fail
3. Connected another PC using VGA cable - success

Any suggestions?

Do you see the BIOS setup screen with fit-VGA? (F2 at boot)

Can you see an image through fit-VGA on another display?
