Hi All..

Ive read a few of these forum posts and it looks like putting Ubuntu on the Fit PC is definitely possible which gives me hope but...

Im wanting to setup a Linux router/firewall/gateway.. with various packages (transparent squid, ip-blocking, snort etc).. I went through the install fine but then was greeted with some FitPC BIOS error before GRUB loaded. I fixed this as the boot order needed to be reset back to the HDD as the 1st Boot Device.

However now I am getting an error when GRUB loads. Haven't got the details with me here.. something like INT 7 ERR 00002.... at the bottom of the screen.

Anyone else come across this?

Im going to try 6.06 and see if that works.

Cheers

Ubuntu 7.04 alternative in my end gives up when I have to select the driver and location of the USB-mounted cdrom. I dont seem to be able to get the right combination, soooo no go.

I successfully installed DSL-n ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/damnsmall/dsl-n/current/dsl-n-01RC4.iso
and got a 1280x1024 resolution to work.

I had the same problem yesterday. I felt unhappy about OpenBSD so I wanted to install Ubuntu server 7.04.
It installs fine but GRUB gives me an INT 14 error. Tried to fix GRUB with the installation disc but that failed.
Maybe this evening I will dig into this...

For Ububtu 7.04 you must first update BIOS to 2-Sep-2007 revision or later.

Yes I read that after the first installation failed. I then proceeded to update the BIOS to the latest version.
After wiping the harddisk and performing the reinstall the same error occured.

This is still something I need to sort out, it's quite possible the error is caused by something else.
