The fanless advantage
A fanless product is preferred over a similar product containing fans due to higher reliability and better user experience.
Noise, dirt and aging of fans
All fans make noise. Smaller fans usually need to spin faster making more noise. Fans become louder and less effective as they age due to bearings wear and dirt deposition on the blades.
In comparison fit-PC2 heat-convection cooling makes no noise to start with and does not age.
Catastrophic fan failure
Like all mechanical systems fans are subject to failure which results in system overheating. Failure can be due to bearings wear, dirt deposition on blades or clogging of airways – if a clean environment cannot be preserved this can be a major problem.
The fanless fit-PC2 is more quiet and more reliable in the long run than any fan-cooled computer.
