FACE Module Concept
FACE Modules (Function And Connectivity Extension Modules) are unique extension boards that integrate seamlessly into fit-PC3 and Intense PC to provide custom functionality and I/O extensions. FACE Modules are implemented with an internal extension board and a simple sheet-metal panel. The extension board is connected to the PC motherboard with two board-to-board connectors featuring standard PC interfaces such as PCIe, USB2, SATA, SMBus etc.

FACE Module specifications are published to allow 3rd parties to design their own FACE Modules.

FM-4E4U – 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports with 4 USB2.0 ports
The FM-4E4U FACE Module designed for networking applications extends CompuLab industrial PCs with four high-performance Gigabit Ethernet ports and four USB2.0 ports.
Features Summary:
- Four high performance 1000 BaseT Ethernet ports. Implemented with the Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet controllers.
- Four high-speed USB 2.0 host ports, 480 Mbit/s.
FM-E4U – Gigabit Ethernet port with 4 USB2.0 ports
The FM-E4U FACE Module extends CompuLab industrial PCs with an additional Gigabit Ethernet port and four USB2.0 ports.
Features Summary:
- 1000 BaseT Ethernet port. Implemented with the Realtek RTL8111 Gigabit Ethernet controller.
- Four high-speed USB 2.0 host ports, 480 Mbit/s.
FM-2MP – 2 mini-PCIe sockets
The FM-2MP FACE Module extends CompuLab industrial PCs with two full-sized mini-PCIe sockets. The blank front panel can be easily modified to accommodate custom connectors.
FM-4U – 4 USB2.0 ports
The FM-4U FACE Module extends CompuLab industrial PCs with four USB2.0 ports. This is the default FACE Module for fit-PC3 and Intense PC.
