Shutdown sometimes hangs after upgrade to Mint 9

About one time in ten, my system hangs during shutdown. Usually when this happens, only the power light remains on continuously, but sometimes the disk access light also remains on. When hung, the system does not respond to keyboard input. Neither ctrl+alt+delete nor alt+sysreq are acknowledged, and...

Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported

I had reported that my install of Mint 9 failed near the end of the process. There appears to be a problem with the install.py file when you specify a mix of partitions to format and not to format. I have resolved my problem by using some code from Mint 8 and updating the sources.list file. Bruce St...

Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported

I created a USB installation key with linuxmint-9-gnome-cd-i386.iso and repeated the installation attempt. This aborted near the end of the process just as it had when installing from the CD. I have a screen shot of the error message. I did download the .iso again from an alternative download site a...

Mint installation problem (solved)

I attempted to install Mint from the .iso image, copied to a CD-R. Mint booted fine from the CD, and the install seemed to go fine until it got to the point of configuring the hardware. At that point the install aborted. I took a screen shot of the abort message and attempted to add it to this post,...

Re: Installing IEGD 10.3.1

Leonid,

1. My unit is revision 1.21, not the new 1.4

2. The bios date is 12/24/09

3. I bought it without a disk, and installed XP Pro myself

Thanks for looking into this.

Re: Installing IEGD 10.3.1

Thanks for your reply. I tried to install IEGD 10.3.1 again. This time I ran setup from the utility directory, and said yes to un-install the current driver. This seemed to work. However, when I ran setup again to install the new driver I got the same error about components not being installed. Also...

Installing IEGD 10.3.1

I attempted to install IEGD 10.3.1 under XP SP3 by running Utilities\Setup. However, each time I got
"All the components are not installed correctly. Please try installing again"

What is the correct way to install this driver?

Re: SD card detected by live 9.10, but not by installed 9.10

The update manager found a kernel update from CompuLab today, and now the SD card has been detected!

Thanks!

Re: IEGD 10.3.1

The update utility found xserver-xorg-video-poulsbo 10.3-1 on the Compulab site this morning and installed it for me. Thanks!

Re: IEGD 10.3.1

It sounds like IEGD 10.3.1 will solve some of my problems. Will CompuLab be supplying a package to do the upgrade?
