Using msconfig.exe to discover number of cpus

This tip is supposed to work on Windows 7, but it also works on Windows 8:

Basically, you do flag+r and enter msconfig.

You select Boot, then "Advanced Options" under "Boot".

In the "Advanced Options", there is a dropdown menu entitled "Number of processors" where you can select 1, 2, etc.

For the z550, there are only two options. Selecting two gives "two logical processors" under "Task Manager" - "Performance"

For the z510 there is only one option, meaning the bios is not reporting the hyperthreading option for tha z510.
