fit-PC2i, will only start when monitor is connected

Hi,
I have 3 fit-PC2i 1.6Ghz. And two problems...
1) Wont power up
When a screen is not connected to the fitPC, it's 50/50 chance it will power up when i connect the DC adaptor. The HDD LED flashes shortly when power is connected but then nothing else happens.
Apparantly connecting a DVI monitor to the fitPC solves the problem.
When the fitPC is in this state i cannot power it up by pressing the button, and it does consume some power because it becomes hot.
2) Heat / freeze, wont power up
Several times when the room temperature rises, the fitPC has frozen (Windows 7), the screen goes completely blank and it is not possible to ping the machine on the network. The power led lights up, but no response. Holding the power button until it shuts down sometimes makes it impossible to power-up the fit-PC for 5-10 minuttes. The fit-pc reaches about 55 degrees, reported by speedfan.
Are any of these 2 issues well-known?
At least one other person has mentioned the problem with the fitPC not starting without the monitor connected.
