How to decrease HDD/SSD power consumption and generated heat

AHCI Link Power Management is a mechanism where the SATA controller puts the SATA link to the internal HDD/SSD storage into a low power mode, thus saving power and reducing temperature.

It can be very helpful tweak for fitlet users, but not only.

Just to be sure, to reduce mSATA temp, on Win7 "ALPM – HIPM/DIPM" option should be set to "Lowest"?

The "Active" option is pretty confusing...

Yes, it should be the Lowest.
