Can you run IPC2 off a 12 volt battery?

Is it okay to power IPC2 directly from a 12 volt battery? Or would you run the risk of frying it from too much current?
I would like to connect my IPC2 directly to a 12 volt battery and just wondering if anyone can tell me if this is okay to do. I'm just wondering if it might fry the computer from too much amps.
