Fit PC4 and GetConsole AirConsole2 for iPad Air2?

A few years ago I purchased a RedPark serial cable so that I could get serial access to my Fit PC Slim from my iPad (and thus avoid carrying a keyboard and monitor around). It never worked.
Now that I have a Fit PC4, I have also tried, unsuccessfully, to connect with the RedPark cable and my iPad Air 2, so I am considering getting a GetConsole AirConsole2.
I am not interested in forking over yet more cash, worthlessly, if it won't work. So I thought I ask and see if the Fit PC4 COM port will work with a GetConsole AirConsole2 in advance.
Anyone out there tried this way of managing the Fit PC4 without an SSH or other wireless or wired connection to the internet? Or some other serial connectivity to an iPad or tablet?
