Fitlet T - kernel panic during shutdown (Manjaro linux)

Post by alexcasassa »

I installed Manjaro kde linux some month ago and all works fine for a while.
After some update (also to the kernel, now at 4.9.01) my fitlet T works as well as before but it crashes with kernel panic during almost every shutdown.
If I start the system, and soon I shutdown, the shutdown is executed, but if I work for a while, the kernel panic occurs.

The error message tells like:
BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at .....
and also... igb_configure_tx_ring etc...

I am not so expert of linux world, so I am not be able to solve the problem and I don't know if it is related to network drivers or temperature or cache or ram, and so on...
Usually, in a session, I run the media player 'Kafeine' with a usb dvbt tuner, 'virtualbox', 'KMail', 'Firefox' and 'Chrome'.

My Fitlet T has 16GB of ram and an SSD Samsung EVO 512GB.
I check regularly your BIOS update, but no new firmware is released for Fitlet T.

Can anyone help me?
Tell me if I have to give other informations (bios settings and so on...)

Thank you.

p.s. except this problem, the fitlet is a great fanless pc and I am really satisfied of my purchase.

After some investigations, I find that the cause of the kernel panic is virtualbox.
So, I think it is not related to the hardware Fitlet T.
