hi all,
I would like to get started with opensense/pfsense and don't really know what kind of machines I should get that on.
I have a 200/20 connection and would like to run 1 or 2 vpn above that that. Energy is costly in Belgium (0.24€/kwh) and so I'm not that much inclined to get enterprise hardware such as a R210ii that is often recommended here.
firewall hardware?

Although Linux mint is the only fully supported distribution for the fitlet2, there are customers reports it works well with it.
Perhaps you could consult the pfsense community via:

Also, there are threads over pfsense configuration for the fitlet2. A short search in here resulted the the following:

Re: firewall hardware?
I'm running a Fitlet2 with J3455, 128GB M.2 SSD, and 8GB RAM and Opnsense. Works fine.
Re: firewall hardware?
There's also a lot of discussion of the Fitlet2 running various firewalls here: https://bbs.io-tech.fi/threads/tee-se-i ... hto.14625/. You may have to use Google translate.
