1920x1080 viera tv problem

I bought a fitpc2 for use as mediacenter pc for my panasonic viera tv, model TXP42G10E, the install of drivers and such works great and everything seems fine. Except for one thing, the picture cuts off so it seems that the tv is too small both in length and width.
I would really like to find a solution where I can get it to be fullscreen without the cutoffs. I am not really all that much concerned with resolution so if there is some solution which lowers the resolution, I will take that.
