HDMI to DVI?

Post by belcat »

I'm kinda ignorant about HDMI ... I have an LCD monitor that has a DVI plug, if I get an HDMI To DVI Cable cable, will I be able to use the Fit-PC 2 on my LCD?

fit-PC2 is sold with an HDMI to DVI adapter so you can connect a DVI display using just a standard DVI to DVI cable.

How about monitors with good old VGA cables?

VGA has different signaling. fit-PC2 does not support VGA. You can connect through an (expensive) external adapter.

Just to confirm what I said in another post, lack of a reasonable way to connect to my VGA monitor is a killer for me. The extra cost (of a new monitor or of an expensive adaptor) makes my use quite untenable. Too bad, otherwise the Fit2 was a perfect solution.

Unless there is a USB solution (USB to VGA, assuming the video can be configured to run through USB), I'm out of luck.

Ron,

Adding VGA support would raise the cost of the Fit-PC2 for all users, even if they don't need it. It is not just the connector, but rather the electronics which drive it.
The future is DVI/HDMI. VGA belongs to the past.

If you will find a cost effective USB/VGA solution, please post your finding.

The future is most likely DisplayPort, at least for computers :)
