Has anyone tried to run OpenSolaris on this hardware ? I´m concerned about if network card is supported or not.

I don't have the Fit-PC2 yet but since the Sony Vaio P is using the same CPU and chipset, thus I think it could be a good reference.

And I found this report.

It would be fun in building an openstorage device with FitPC2.

I got one today and tried to install it. The USB controller (uhci) fails and the keyboard goes dead. I haven't gotten past that yet but have filed a bug on it.

I have had some success with getting OpenSolaris to work. if you insert a USB 2.0 hub between any USB 1.1 devices (keyboard and mouse) and the Fit PC 2, the current OpenSolaris (200906) will install and run. There is support for the internal Ethernet device so you can then add additional software as needed.

One caveat - you can't use the standard installer. I used the prototype text based installer available on the OpenSolaris website at http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/c ... Prototype/

This is due to the video not working and the system locking up when Xorg attempts to initialize and probe out the video. Once installed, you can boot into text mode and disable gdm (svcadm disable gdm) to keep the system running as a text mode device.

I've started to blog about the details of getting it up and the problems on my small system blog at http://blogs.sun.com/beauty

Hope this helps someone.
