screen resolution under Win7 Ult

Post by karlvoss »

Installed 7Ultimate onto my FitPC2 (which had been running GREAT with the XP it came with).
PAIN - DO NOT DO THAT TO YOURSELF:
a) my display now maxes out at 1024*768 (used to be 1920 by 1400)
b) keyboard response is VERY SLOW

Question:
Re a): are there drivers
Re b): how to I go back to the system I had (ie the XP it came with)

You got a CD with the fit-PC2, it has Windows XP Home... I guess the resolution was 1920x1200, that's the max resolution.

Try the Win7 drivers found here: http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/win7-drivers/

There is a sticky post just above yours in Windows 7 forum...

1920x1200 it was
I saw that others have Ultimate installed and are happy - AT WHAT SCREEN RESOLUTION please? My installation will not allow me above 1024... and it seems to think I have dual displays? (which should be impossible...)

Something is not working the way I expected it... anybody have any secret hints?

A simple setting will resolve that.
In display properties ask to use only monitor #2.

No can do... it gives me only the option to use DISPLAY 1|2
With a max resolution of 1024*780 (or whatever)

download the Graphics Media Accelerator from the FIT7 website. Install it. Now in the task bar you will have an icon for the Accelerator. Click on the Graphics Properties. Once open, select the digital display and change to number 2 monitor only....that should do it.

Turns out the trick is to NOT use the control panel - you need to use the Intel Graphics application. That allows you to set resolutions higher than 1024...

Once THAT is done, Windows7 will allows the 2nd display to go to a higher resolution. I have no idea where the "first" display is, but right now I'll just take it the way it is. Who sez Windows has to make sense anyway.

Next, I'll install LINUX - Win7 is a bit too slow on the small FitPC. Thanks for the ideas & suggestions,

The 1st display is LVDS interface - used in netbooks but not in fit-PC2.

This "ghost" display makes my tv-tuner sick... I can't watch tv, because Overlay doesn't work, even if I change to use only screen #2...

Help me, how can I disable/remove the 1st screen or switch them, to let my Digital display as NUMBER 1 !!!

Overlay lack of support is a driver limitation. The other disabled display is not related.
