Unable to recognize HDD when booting from SD mini

On the Fit-PC2, 2Ghz, Z550, I'm able to boot from the SD Mini slot. Yet when it gets to the point of trying to recognize the internal hard drive, it is unable to do so and aborts.

I can use the same memory card plugged into a SD to USB adapter and it boots fine. The internal hard drive is recognized and Windows proceeds to load on it.
