drive missing for fitPC2 w/ Windows 7 Pro install

Post by aaronn »

Hello everyone,

can someone please show me any step by step tutorial for installing Windows 7 Pro on a brand new fitPC2 ?

I have the new machine set up, but when I try to install Windows it cannot find a harddrive to install on. I'm using the diskless drive version.

I'm using a USB dvdr drive to install Windows 7 and it recognizes it just fine.

When I get to the step of Win7 install to pick a drive to install on, there is no option. If I then click the add driver options, an X drive shows up with various folders inside of it.....but this does not appear as a drive I can install on.

I need your help getting this one started. Thanks,

Dear Aaron

Have you installed your own HDD into FitPC2 prior Win7 installation?
Can you see it from BIOS menu?

Thanks

I am working with the fitPC2 directly out of the box. I have added nothing to the device of my own or third party.

The BIOS shows this under its menus :

MAIN > Primary Master > None

MAIN > BIOS Date 5/12/10

BOOT > Boot Priority order >
1: IDE HDD:
2: USB CDROM:
3: USB KEY:
4: USB HDD:
5. SD CARD:
6:
7:
8:
Excluded from boot order:
: USB FDC:

I was only using an external hard drive in an attempt to load drivers, but that didnt help.

I'm using the diskless drive version
Diskless versions of FitPC2 comes without of the HDD or SSD drive installed as the primary storage, so if you want to install a Windows 7 on it, you should provide primary storage of your own firstly
