Fit-pc2 hibernates after 12 hours

Post by johnh »

I have set up a fit-pc2 with win7 and completed all the windows updates. I use it to log my home weather station, electricity consumption and solar panel generation. It is run as a headless unit and needs to run 24/7.

I connect to the fit-PC remotely using teamviewer.

Under windows power settings I have turned all the options for screen off, sleep etc to "never".

Despite the settings, around 12 hours from boot up the fit-PC goes to sleep. All the lights go off and I have to press the button on the front to wake it back up.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

I found a fix for the problem. Hibernate needs to be disabled via command prompt.
  • Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
  • In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
  • When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
  • At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off, and then press Enter.
  • Type exit, and then press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.
